Jun. 16--A would-be casino developer in Cincinnati folded his hand yesterday in the high-stakes duel over legalized gambling in Ohio.
Hotel developer Louis Beck's decision to withdraw a petition for casinos at 10 Ohio sites -- two in downtown Cleveland, one in Cincinnati and at each of the state's seven racetracks -- virtually guarantees that Ohio voters will consider only one gambling measure in November.
Beck's Queen City Gaming Entertainment Inc. received permission from the Ohio attorney general's office this week to begin circulating a petition for the measure.
