Inflation up at 4.72 per cent

New Delhi, Jun 16 (PTI) Inflation rose to 4.72 per cent during the week ended June 3 against 4.68 per cent in the previous week due to higher prices of fruits, vegetables and some manufactured products.

The inflation stood at 4.39 per cent during the corresponding week of the previous year. The official data on inflation released today, did not factor in increase in prices of petrol and diesel announced on June 5.

In fact, the index of fuel, power, light and lubricants remained unchanged. The Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council Chairman C Rangarajan had said the total effect of rise in petroleum prices, ...
