Jun. 17--The four men and one woman charged in the shooting Tuesday of Anthony Jones have an extensive criminal history, court records show.
But court records also show the victim had a criminal background as well.
Jones, 26, of Vanceboro, was scheduled to go to trial Monday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Jones was charged after a shooting Oct. 1 near Our Child Day Care on Main Street in Vanceboro. According to the Craven County Sheriff's Office, an ongoing feud led to the shooting, which left the victim slightly injured.
