Whether it's a headache or a sore muscle, when you're in pain, you want quick relief. But before reaching for that bottle of aspirin or applying an ice pack, ask yourself some simple questiwns to avoid problems down the road:
Is pain your only symptom? Do you have a fever? If so, how high (or low) is it and how long have you had it? Are you allergic to aspirin? Are you taking prescription drugs? Do you have asthma? Any stomach disorders?
"Hey, wait a minute," you interrupt. "I'm in pain!"
