SERGEANT CECIL was yesterday reported to be in tip-top order by trainer Rod Millman as the clock ticks down to the star stayer's bid for a fairytale win in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on Thursday, writes Lee Mottershead.
Last year's ROA/Racing Post Horse of the Year was one of 13 horses to feature among the five-day entries for Europe's premier marathon, for which Karl Burke has supplemented Akarem and Godolphin have pulled out The Geezer and Cherry Mix.
