Thirty years ago, Gerald Ford was rejected by the American public when he sought four more years in the White House after succeeding Richard Nixon in August 1974. Yet, before he pardoned Richard Nixon a month later, Ford had seemed to be on one of the most notable presidential honeymoons in our history.
