On the Map: There is nothing bland about the Food Allergy Initiative's annual ball. In each of the past eight years, the relatively new organization has held a fundraiser to generate support for finding treatments for life-threatening food allergies, and the event's popularity always results in a waiting list. This year's gala, which adopted an Italian-festival theme and was held at the Pierre hotel, in Manhattan, sold out fast.
