Acxiom, it's almost needless to say, disagrees.
Acxiom spokesman Dale Ingrain said, "We definitely are [a competitor of Catalina's], and anyone who studied the market would see that."
Acxiom would not comment further on Ubben's recent election to Catalina's board.
In Catalina's most recent proxy report, Acxiom among a "peer group" of companies whose stock price performances were compared against Catalina's. Also included in the group were direct and targeted marketing company Harte-Hanks Inc. of San Antonio, Alliance Data Systems Corp. of Dallas, which provides transaction, credit and marketing services, and direct-mail media company Advo Inc. ...
