Have you cared for your nails today? It's been a while since I have discussed the importance of proper nail care, so here are some ideas that may help. To begin with, if you have not done your nails today, you should! What I mean by "done" is properly polishing their ends, making sure they are as smooth as possible. You can use 500 trimite (silver) sandpaper (available from Guitar Solo, 1411 Clement St., San Francisco, CA 94118). Don't commence practicing without doing this; your nails may have developed slight hooks, which can result in a most untriumphant sound, not to mention tremendous rhythmic and tone-production problems.
