According to one of the St. Louis area's most prominent public relations men, the profession needs to do a better job of maintaining ethical standards and helping others understand its work.
"If I may be permitted a strong personal opinion, I should say we are not propagandistic manipulators-not simply because we do not know how to hypnotize, but also because we possess a sense of morality which prompts us to provide an ethical, professional service to management, to clients and society," he said.
