Jun. 20--A 62-unit cooperative housing development's conceptual plan got approval Monday from the Austin City Council, but it raised concerns from a few citizens.
Real Estate Equities Development Co. of St. Paul wants to build a three-story cooperative housing development designed for people age 55 and older on 15.5 acres of vacant land in northwest Austin.
The development would be built in the 2200 to 2400 blocks of 10th Street Northwest, just north of the proposed Wal-Mart Super Center.
Austin Planning Commission members voted 5-0 on June 13 to approve the project's conceptual plan.
