TOKYO, June 20 Asia Pulse - Snow Brand Milk Products Co. (TSE:2262) and Morinaga Milk Industry Co. (TSE:2264) announced separately Tuesday that they plan to produce more natural cheese.
The companies intend to add facilities and expand the capacities of existing lines to meet the growing demand for natural cheese. Japan currently imports about half the natural cheese that it consumes.
Snow Brand plans to begin building a new line at its Nakashibetsu, Hokkaido, plant, which will be capable of producing 20,000-plus tons a year. The facility, which is to go onstream in fiscal 2007, will make Gouda, cheddar and other varieties. Investments will total about 10 ...
