Jun. 19--STONE MILLS -- The Mountain Fiber Folk had a mission at the Stone Mills Agricultural Museum Sunday: Make a shawl from fleece to finish before the day was through.
A popular competition at many sheep and wool festivals, the women of the wool, spinning and weaving co-op, based in Montgomery Center, Vt., weren't actually competing against anyone at the Jefferson County Sheep Association's fifth annual festival.
"We're more like seeing if it's something we'd like to do," said weaver Carol Farmer.
