Bayou La Batre, Ala.-based Master Boat Builders Inc. delivered two more steel-hulled offshore service vessels this spring. The first, delivered in March, is the 164'x36'x12' DP-1 Delta Monarch for Trinidad-based Delta Logistics Ltd. The second OSV, delivered in April, is the 185'x46'x15' Ada B. Callais for Abdon Callais Offshore LLC, Golden Meadow, La.
Main propulsion for the Delta Monarch comes from a pair of Caterpillar 3508B diesels, producing 850 hp at 1,200 rpm. The Cats connect to Rolls-Royce Hung Chin 64"x54" 4-bladed bronze propellers through Twin Disc MG-6690 marine gears with 3.21:1 reduction ratios.
