On October 25, unionized workers in both the private and public sectors abandoned the NDP.
Disgust with a party that constantly betrays its principles when in power, coupled, in some areas with strategic voting to oust the Tories, led to a staggering loss of 70 per cent of the party's traditional support.
The virtual disappearance of the NDP at the federal level poses a serious problem for the Left. Provincially the party is increasingly the voice of big business.
