Jun. 20--BRUNSWICK -- Brunswick is a community that likes its history.
There's the Brunswick History Walk, a stretch of bricks in front of the Brunswick Railroad Museum marking prominent people and events. There's a mural under the Md. 17 bridge with the label "The future of Brunswick is rooted deeply in our past."
So it almost seems that Brunswick's participation in a state Civil War heritage area program would be a no-brainer.
That's not the case, however. The City Council voted not to participate back on May 23. Council members indicated they thought it would cost too much money. Tourism representatives said ...
