Jun. 22--Federal agency budget cuts may cost the Housing Authority of Bowling Green about $400,000, or 22 percent of its regular funding, housing authority Executive Director Abraham Williams said Wednesday.

Already, $100,000 has been cut from the capital fund the housing authority gets from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as part of a series of cuts to housing authorities nationwide, he said.

"They cut every agency 10 percent," Williams said.

And it's possible that another $280,000 in operating money may dry up, he told housing authority board members Wednesday afternoon.
