Jun. 23--MUMBAI, India -- Buoyed by the success stories in India of some of the big daddies among global private equity investors, smaller overseas players in this segment are also considering scaling up their investments in the country.
Argonaut Private Equity, a US-based private equity firm for instance is looking at increasing its investments into India from the current $40m to $500m over the next couple of years. Argonaut has over $2bn under management. The funds for this private equity fund have been provided by a single investor -- US billionaire George Kaiser.
