The North West government has organised 40 social workers and psychologists to offer counselling for the next three months to pupils and families of 13 teachers who died in a horrific motor accident.
North West Premier Edna Molewa announced this during a visit to the families in Mafikeng yesterday.
The female teachers and principal from Diphetogo Primary were killed when the minibus taxi they were travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with a truck outside Lichtenburg, about 70km from Mafikeng, on Saturday. They had been travelling to Madidi near Pretoria for the funeral of the deputy principal's mother.
