Genetic Findings in Mice May Point to Autism's Roots.(Brief article)

Researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, found that deleting a gene in a certain part of the brain causes mice to exhibit social interaction deficiencies reminiscent of humans with autism spectrum disorders. They also found physical abnormalities in the brains that mimic some cases of autism.
