Jun. 27--The Duluth News Tribune will continue to roll off the presses Wednesday and every day into the foreseeable future, but today marks the end of an era in local newspaper publishing.

It's expected to be the last day the corporation Knight Ridder will own the publication.

For the first time in 70 years, the Ridder name won't be associated with the News Tribune. The 32-newspaper chain will cease to exist when the stock market closes today and the News Tribune is sold to Fargo, N.D.-based Forum Communications.
