LOS ANGELES -- Grigsby Brandford & Co. sent a strong letter of rebuttal to Alameda County, Calif., supervisors, complaining that a former administrator intentionally distorted and misstated the firm's underwriting work for the issuer.
The five-page letter, addressed to the board of supervisors and dated Jan. 26, responded to a letter sent to the board this week by Marian Breitbart, an administrative analyst who resigned Tuesday.
Breitbart's letter criticized the way county supervisors handled the underwriting selection for a huge pension bond deal, and specifically raised concerns about its appointment of Grigsby Brandford as senior manager.
