Jun. 22--BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. -- "At first, they said it was just a select bunch of people," said Stefan Golec, the longest serving Bellows Falls trustee, said about the opposition. "It seems to me it's more than just a few."
Last month, residents voted 56 to 46 against a $1,741,452 village budget. Since then, a group of residents has been pushing for a $243,000 cut, more than double the cut being proposed by trustees.
That group includes Rick Kane, Jim McAuliffe, Tom Salmon, Hugh Haggerty, Judy Lidie, Doug MacPhee and Stewart Read.
