Jun. 28--The debate over the harm of secondhand smoke should be over, the U.S. Surgeon General said Tuesday in releasing a comprehensive report that concludes there is no risk-free level of exposure.
The scientific report, "The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke," calls for completely smoke-free buildings and public places, arguing separate smoking sections and ventilation systems don't fully protect nonsmokers, Surgeon General Richard Carmona said Tuesday.
