San Jose de Feliciano is located in the central northern part of Entre Rios near the border with Corrientes Province. Its earliest records go back to 1818 when it was founded by Don Jacinto Panomero who was at the time the head of the border control-Entre Rios was then an independent state. Before the arrival of the Spanish the area was thinly populated by the Caletones tribe. Cotton, linseed, sorghum are the major crops in the district.
