A serendipitous find, Wimberley is a little market town and artists' haven at the junction of several back roads about halfway between Austin and San Antonio. From Interstate 35 at San Marcos, follow Route 12 northwest into the Blanco River Valley, a scenic ride of about 15 miles through the hills.
Drawn by the scenery and wildlife, artists and writers have gravitated here and found inspiration in the land and the people.
