WAWA INC. is aggressively expanding its private label to items throughout its stores. As part of the strategy, the company introduced its red and white label with the golden goose throughout stores with its own brand of bottled water in Nov. 2004. The goal is to cement ties with customers by creating a "holistic brand experience," explained CEO Howard Stoeckel.
The convenience store chain already has 300 items under the Wawa label and 100 more are in the works. The newest is a line of 17 kinds of bagged candy, including Laffy Taffy and Tootsie Pops. The company passes some of its private label ...
