Turkmenistan wants to increase gas prices for Ukraine

Kyiv, June 30 (Interfax) - Turkmenistan wants to review the terms of a gas agreement with Ukraine and increase the price for Turkmen natural gas from $60 to $100 per 1,000 cubic meters starting in the second half of 2006, Liliya Klochko, press secretary for Ukraine's Fuel and Energy Ministry, told Interfax.

Turkmen Oil & Gas Industry & Mineral Resources Gurbanmurat Atayev made the offer at a meeting with Ukraine's Fuel and Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov on Friday in Ashgabad.
