Jul. 1--TORONTO -- And so the Sordid Season treks on, with new faces in haunting old places. One night after breaking a seven-game losing streak in Baltimore, the Phillies ventured north last night and continued their plummet south in the National League East standings. Playing on the same field where their predecessors from 1993 (for you 12-year-olds, that was the last time this team made the postseason) suffered a heartbreaking loss in the World Series, the Phillies suffered their 16th loss in the last 20 games as they were hammered, 8-1, by the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
