Jul. 1--Thousands of Seventh-day Adventists from the mid-Atlantic states are attending the annual Allegheny East Conference Camp Meeting through July 9 at Pine Forge, Douglass Township. The event, which includes seminars on the Bible, family life and health, began Thursday. Dr. Ella Simmons , a vice president of the General Conference, will be the keynote speaker today at 11 a.m. Simmons, who was elected during the 2005 Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Session in St. Louis, is the first black woman vice president.
