Jul. 1--In his 12 years as Dodge County planning director, Duane Johnson has watched as several of the county's dairy farms have shrunk or closed down. "Our cow population has dropped significantly in the time that I've been here," Johnson said. "We've lost way more cattle than we've gained." Dodge County could end up boosting those cow numbers dramatically if the proposed 2,115-cow Ripley Dairy is built.
