Jul. 1--The average Chattanooga homeowner who uses natural gas will pay $6.36 more a month if state regulators approve a rate increase requested Friday. Chattanooga Gas Co. is seeking $5.8 million a year more to cover its increased distribution costs since its last rate increase in 2004. The proposal would boost residential gas prices about 7.59 percent, according to company spokeswoman Robin Keegan.
