MANILA, July 4 Asia Pulse - Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo pledged Tuesday to continue supporting development of Lanao del Norte in order to further reduce poverty incidence in the province.

The Chief Executive made this commitment in a speech at the Mindanao Civic Centre Gymnasium in Tubod, Lanao del Norte during celebrations marking the province's 47th founding anniversary.

Speaking in Visayan, dialect of the province, Arroyo said she will look into how the peace situation and delivery of basic services in Lanao del Norte can be enhanced further.

"I'll be in Davao next week to discuss this with our regional development ...
