Oxford, England - Don Ennio Innocenti, an Italian priest, is angry. No publisher, religious or secular, would look at, still less accept, his account of how Benito Mussolini, dictator of Italy 1922-45, was converted to Catholicism in the last months of his life. So he had Disputa sulla conversione di Benito Mussolini privately printed. "The fact that I couldn't find a publisher," Innocenti claims, "proves that Mussolini is still demonized in Italy."
But the skepticism of publishers probably had more to do with the fact that the two priests on whose testimony his "revelation" is founded are both a long time dead.
