Jul. 8--Flush with approval of $6.3 million in funds by TxDOT Aviation for construction of a 7,000-foot runway, Ector County's Schlemeyer Field may get plans off the ground for a major airport improvement project in coming months. Projects already discussed or on the drawing board will cost in excess of $7,680,343 with Ector County's part of that being at least $1,380,343.
