Jul. 9--BENEFIT FOR AFGHAN WOMEN The chance to purchase authentic Afghan purses, scarves, jackets and tunics and the opportunity to help women in Afghanistan brought about 50 people to Sage on Tilghman Street, Allentown, on Thursday, June 29. The boutique sold pieces made using traditional Afghan weaving and sewing methods that Pamela Varkony, the founder of a women's networking and mentoring initiative called Power of Women, brought back from a two-week trip to Afghanistan.
