Jul. 9--Yoakum's Randy Boone has been selected to participate in the Texas Collegiate League's All-Star baseball game set for Monday at Roger Williams Ballpark in Weatherford. Boone, who pitches for Coppell, was chosen for the Tris Speaker team. The rosters were chosen by the head coaches in each division. The all-star game is scheduled to start at 7:35 p.m. and will be televised live by Fox Sports Southwest.
Boone overcame early-season arm problems to finish his junior season at Texas with a 4-2 record and 3.59 ERA. He became the Longhorns' closer late in the season and had two saves. Boone had 41 strikeouts in 42 2/3 innings. ...
