German speciality chemicals company Degussa has sold Raylo Chemicals, part of its exclusive synthesis and catalysts business unit located in Edmonton, Canada, to Gilead Sciences, the biopharmaceutical company based in Foster City, California.

The 115m [pounds sterling] ($146m) deal, expected to be completed in Q4, does not include the Raylo name and the Argyll Road site, one of the two operated by Raylo.
