BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Hilton Hotels Corp. announced that its "Queen of New Orleans" riverboat casino opened to the public yesterday, becoming the first such facility to begin operations on the Mississippi River in New Orleans.
The project, a joint venture between Hilton and New Orleans Paddlewheels Inc., opened on the eve of the annual Mardi Gras tourist influx to New Orleans.
The first customers embarked at 11 a.m. (CST) following a christening ceremony which featured Sidney Barthelemy, New Orleans mayor; Francis Heitmeyer, Louisiana state senator; Ronald Brinson, New Orleans Dock Board president; and Barron Hilton, chairman and chief ...
