A coalition including consumer, senior citizen and labor organizations is gathering signatures to put a single-payer health care initiative on California's November ballot.
The coalition, Californians for Health Security, includes Voter Revolt, the consumer group which put Proposition 103 on the 1988 ballot and sent shock waves through the insurance industry. Health Access, a San Francisco-based coalition of well over 200 organizaitons, recently endorsed the signature-gathering phase of the health initiative campaign.
