A Syracuse man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend during a May break-in at her home intentionally killed her to eliminate her as a witness against him in a pending criminal case, according to an indictment filed Friday.
An Onondaga County grand jury indicted Earl W. Sitton Jr. on a count of first-degree murder in the slaying May31 of Cynthia Tryon. The indictment accuses Sitton of intentionally killing Tryon to prevent her from testifying against him or as retribution for her giving testimony against him.
