Funds for the space station will flow directly from the program director's office at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C., to the station program manager's office at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, agency officials said last week.

NASA hopes the move will cut down on management redundancy and ease congressional concerns. Some lawmakers worry that if station's purse strings are controlled by the center director's office at JSC, as opposed to the program manager, accountability for the program's budget would be lost.
