Jul. 12--TAYLORVILLE -- A Nebraska-based power producer joined plans Tuesday to help develop the proposed Taylorville Energy Center. Tenaska Inc. is acquiring a 50 percent interest in the project from The ERORA Group LLC of Louisville, Ky. The two companies plan to jointly develop the remainder of the project. "Tenaska believes the Taylorville Energy Center will become a significant source of electric energy for the Midwest," said Dave Fiorelli, president and CEO of Tenaska's Business Development Group. The proposed $1 billion project calls for a power plant to be built near Taylorville that uses Illinois coal through gasification technology. ...
