Model bill on the anvil for street vendors' welfare
New Delhi, July 12 (PTI) With street vendor population on the rise, the Government today said it proposed to formulate a model legislation on urban street vendors and work out a mechanism to rescue them from harassments by administrators and enforcement agencies.
"There is a need to focus on the plight of the urban street vendors and work towards some mechanism, which will come to the rescue of the helpless street vendors. There is a proposal to formulate a model legislation on urban street vendors," Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Selja said.
