The ceremony for the completion of the second-phase project and the start of the third-phase project was held by Hunan Hengyang Kingboard Chemical Co., Ltd. in Hengyang on May 24th, 2006. The company was established by Hong Kong Kingboard Chemical Group with an investment of HK$30 million after it had purchased Hengyang Caustic Soda Plant in 2003. The second-phase project including a 60 000 t/a ion-membrane caustic soda unit and a 80 000 t/a hydrogen dioxide unit were launched in 2004 and completed respectively in August and September 2005.
