Jul. 13--Members of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., plan to protest the funeral of slain Staff Sgt. Paul S. Pabla on Saturday at Huntington North High School.
The church, which picketed the funeral of Sgt. Christopher Monroe on Nov. 7 in Fort Wayne, believes America should not be tolerant of homosexual lifestyles and, because of their tolerance, nearly all Americans will suffer eternal damnation. Military funerals glorify the deaths of people fighting for a country they say is doomed, making them especially egregious.
