Your breasts are not your enemy.
``Women do not need to be on a search-and-destroy mission,'' said Susan Love, director of the UCLA Breast Center and an outspoken and controversial critic of doctors who frighten their patients with breast cancer information that she calls terrifying and misleading. ``We've created a feeling among women that your breast is there to betray you.''
Love sees the real enemy as the continuing lack of foolproof early detection, and she said the weapon women need to wield is political pressure to get breast-cancer research funded.
