Jul. 18--Cook County Commissioner Bobbie Steele on Monday withdrew her name from consideration for County Board president in the November election, indicating party leaders will likely select the ailing incumbent's son, Ald. Todd Stroger. "I don't have a legendary last name," Steele said. "My dad was a farmer." Stroger, the 8th Ward alderman, and U.S. Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.) are scheduled to appear Tuesday before the Cook County Democratic Central Committee at a slating session at the Hotel Allegro downtown.
