More than 11,000 delegates from all over the world came together to measure progress on 30 years of urban sustainability efforts and to chart action plans for the future at a biennial world forum last week.
The City of Vancouver, British Columbia, played host June 19-23 to national government ministers, cabinet secretaries, local elected officials, community leaders, corporate executives, development agencies, students, city planners and private citizens at the World Urban Forum III, sponsored by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
