Windows NT will affect two broad groups of engineers. Engineers who until now have toiled alone, pounding the keyboards of their toy-like PCs, will suddenly find themselves zooming through a universe of powerful, meshed programs and far-reaching networks. Conversely, engineers who were once buckled into expensive workstation seats will be freed from proprietary frameworks.
